Granada Bistro
Find yourself transported back in time and around the globe to 20th century Europe with a visit the Granada Hotel and Bistro in San Luis Obispo. Whether you’re sitting at the speakeasy style lounge or indulging in a sweet treat from the balcony of your quaint brick-walled room, this is the place to go for a break from run-of-the-mill brews and burgers.
Hidden away on Morro Street off the bustling Higuera Street, Granada is a boutique hotel with just 17 small rooms. The rooms feature exposed brick walls, hand-crafted steel windows, Persian rugs and hardwood floors. The picture windows in each room and balconies – big enough for two – create an ambiance that takes you out of the palm tree-lined Central Coast and into the streets of Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood.

A patio reminiscent of Europe.
The drink selection could prove challenging to those who suffer from indecision. Among the classic cocktails like an Old Fashion, Negroni and Martini is a list of 10 signature cocktails. Consider the Tomas en Fuego, similar to the margarita in that it features tequila, agave and lime. Or maybe the Black Revolver – rotating spirit, averna, sfumato, punt e mes, black walnut bitters – piques your interest. You can’t go wrong ordering the crowd favorite, a Fresh Start, a refreshing combination of cucumber infused vodka, St. Germain, lemon and soda water.

Cocktails at the Granda Bistro
On the menu, bonafide charcuterie boards and local oysters welcome you to dinner. After an appetizer, choose from the Spring Fettucine or Wine-Braised Short Rib or Soba Noodle Salad. If the first bites took up too much room in your stomach, go for something lighter like the Apple and Walnut Salad or salad of Strawberry and Snap Peas. When the server presents the meal at your table, take a moment to absorb the ambiance of flickering candles and cold, dark bricks. Take a deep breath, soak up the aroma of the beautifully presented food, then dig in.

Sip, and savor at the Granada Bistro.
Granda features a number of great deals throughout the week, from Nightcap Martini Hour to Fried Chicken Monday.
